About Black Hawk Electric Video Transcription [background music] >> John Funderburg: At Black Hawk Electric our mission is to set the standard by bringing together a team of amazing people inspired by passion and innovation; who simply build an exceptional product worthy of the Black Hawk name. >> Jon Lyons: When I am on a job site I make sure that when I get with my guys they understand that they lead that job site and they have the accountability to drive a job. The courage these guys put out with as many people are on that project absolutely astounds me every single day. The innovation they use the passion they use is phenomenal. Then in 1969, my parents and my grandparents moved from San Bernardino down to San Diego, chasing the single family housing. In 2010 we started pursuing assisted living facilities, mixed use, and hotels. Today our focus is to setup Black Hawk Electric for the next generation to come in and continue the legacy that my grandparents started. >> Jon Lyons: A lot of things we do before a job even starts is the setup. We’ll break down the units specifically; build their panels so they are all the same. All of our breakers in the exact location. Saves a ton of time on the back side with little mistakes. [sounds of construction] We spend a lot of time up front with CAD design to make sure when the information goes out to the field, they have exactly what they need to put the conduits in the exact locations. So when we build our gear rooms everything fits where it’s supposed to. Technology has changed so much in the last few years. We’ve gone away from paper plans and gone everything digital. We have foremen in the field who might see a problem, they can instantly snap a picture, red line the problem, and send it to us in a matter of minutes. Which typically would take days by the time it came back to the shop, turned around a paper product, and put it back in the field. [sounds of construction] >> John Funderburg: Above all, we believe it all starts with our Black Hawk family. It is so gratifying to walk around our projects and see team members that have been with us for a long time. Not just team members, but also their families as well. It's really the foundation that holds us up. We believe that if we take care of our team members, they will take care of our clients; every detail, every project, every time.
